SAKE ONE
Christopher “Sake One” Kinney is a Emmy-award winning aerosol artist, tattoo artist, and painter living in San Diego, California. In 1982, Sake One became one of the first recognized aerosol artists in California and is well-known internationally today. Sake One has been in various style writing and hip hop crews, helping to push the global movement forward, not only in California but also across the United States. With his stylized lettering and characters, he has inspired hundreds of youth across San Diego County to pick up the spray can as a medium to create art. Sake One’s reputation as a serious artist grew out of his technical skills. Over the years, his work has appeared in dozens of museum and gallery exhibitions around the United States and internationally. He received two Emmy Awards in 1991 for his spray paint work for Fox Broadcasting Company.
