JSWISS
As a rapper who prides himself on authenticity, JSWISS has been performing and recording music for 13 years since releasing his mixtape as a freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill. Since then, JSWISS released around a dozen projects and performed hundreds of times throughout the East Coast and Europe, reaching audiences worldwide. He is known for inspiring messages, storytelling, sharp lyricism and collaborating with top notch live instrumentalists, blending hip hop with multiple genres.
Hip hop has taken JSWISS to stages such as the Apollo Theater, Blue Note Jazz Club and Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as classrooms and school auditoriums where he could not only perform for, but also dialogue with students with various degrees of interest in music. After watching his interactions with students, teachers often believe that JSWISS is as much an educator as an emcee. It can be said that both professions employ many of the same skills.
