Aysha Upchurch
Aysha Upchurch, the Dancing Diplomat, is a dancer and educator who creates, facilitates, and designs workshops centered around youth advocacy, social justice, and transformative education. She has shared her expertise about equitable and culturally relevant studies, the importance of dance and movement in education, and the importance of Hip Hop as a literacy tool at various national conferences, and most recently, at TedxUConn. Aysha is currently on faculty at Harvard University, where she teaches new courses on Hip Hop pedagogy and embodied learning. She also launched the successful HipHopEX program, an intergenerational collaborative lab for high school and graduate students to explore Hip Hop arts in education.
Aysha Upchurch was on Next Level Team Barbados, Site Manager for Next Level Netherlands, and will be Site Manager for Next Level Zimbabwe.
