As 2016 comes to a close, we want to take some time to reflect on some of our favorite moments of the past year. Though of course we are very proud of the larger-scale initiatives we have developed and the partnerships and collaborations we have been privileged to take part in, sometimes it’s the small spontaneous activities that can really put things in perspective.
In May, Next Level Team Global 2.0 brought artists from each of our 2.0 international residency series to the United States.
The team consisted of MC’s Ainara Calix Montesinos, a.k.a AinaJuana (Honduras) and Amani Msangi, a.k.a. Kiche Legend (Tanzania); DJ Cue Bass (El Salvador); and dancers Boonyachana Tissakul, a.k.a. B-Boy Sept (Thailand) and Kifuko Moureen Drichiru, a.k.a. B-Girl Key (Uganda).
The team visited Washington, DC, and Chapel Hill, NC, where they interacted and collaborated with American musicians and students, in a series of panels, concerts and pop-up performances.
